3rd Ultra sound

Our 3rd ultra sound was March 19th, 2010. IT'S A GIRL!!! We didn't go to our normal place; we went to the doctor's office to have the third ultra sound done. The lady that did the ultra sound was extremely rude! I was in such a bad mood getting it done because we were so excited and she completely ruined our experience. The equipment they had was not nearly as good as our regular place so we could barely see anything. This little baby was being so stubborn. She was lying on her right side with her back towards us so we couldn't see anything. She finally moved and the technician said we are having a girl! It took almost 30 minutes to get the picture. I would have been so mad if we went there and wouldn't have been able to find out what we were having, mostly because the lady was so rude and the rest of the day everyone would have asked if we found out. After we were done I wasn't even excited because the lady made me so mad. We walked out of the room and down the hall and then we got excited and hugged each other and couldn't stop laughing. I am so happy we are having a girl, especially because I was right since the beginning! It was my motherly instinct. I knew as soon as I found out I was pregnant I was having a girl and I LOVE to be right! When I got in the car I called mom and Linda and told them we are having a girl and they are both so excited!

Burke and I both guessed girl.

2nd Ultra sound

Our second ultra sound was February 11th, 2010. Burke and I went in for the baby's 1st trimester screening. That checks the fluid on the back of the neck to see if the baby could have Down-syndrome and other health problems. Right now the baby is only 2 inches. When the technician was taking the pictures she said, "Wow the baby is holding really still. I didn't know the baby would even be moving around when it is so tiny and all the sudden the baby started to kick and move all over and throw its head back. It was so much fun to watch our little baby moving around so much! The lady kept calling the baby peanut and in some of the pictures it looks like the baby is waiving!

1st Ultra sound

Our first ultra sound was January 7th, 2010. We were surprised that we were even going to get to do an ultra sound this early because the doctor said we couldn't see anything this early or hear the heart beat. We went to the appointment and had the nicest technician. We not only got to see our little baby but we got to hear and SEE the heart beating! It was the most amazing thing to see the heart beat. Burke and I just laughed and listened to the tech call our little baby peanut. It made the pregnancy more official and exciting to know the heart is healthy and beating strong.

Telling the In-laws...

When Burke and I were trying to get pregnant I wanted to tell Burke's family in a fun way. It was right before Christmas and I can NEVER wait to give or receive presents, Burke and I have still never opened our presents to each other on Christmas day. I wanted to give them a picture frame as a gift and have Linda open it early so we could see her reaction. Kristen and I ran all over the place looking for a cute picture frame that said grandchild or something about grandparents that I could give Linda. I found some pretty ugly frames but that was the best anyone had. I talked to Amy and she told me to go to Hallmark and to print the picture of the positive pregnancy tests to put in the picture frame. I ran to Hallmark and found the best picture frame! It was silver and said "Great moms get promoted to Grandma." I printed the picture of the positive pregnancy tests and put it in the frame.

Burke and I went to their house for dinner and before we are I told Linda I got her a present I couldn't wait to give her. Everyone told me to wait until Christmas but I told them I couldn't and it is to start a new tradition. Linda and I had been trying to come up with new tradition we could do for Christmas as a family so what better thing to start then having a baby with us!

Linda opened the present and read the quote on the frame and was confused for a minute then she got so excited and we told everyone we were pregnant. Linda, Doug, Kayli, and Grandma Pat was there and Kelsi and Cody came over right after and we got to tell them too. Everyone is really excited! As soon as Linda found out her first response was that we needed to go shopping. This little baby is going to be spoiled!

I'm Pregnant!

Today is the best day of my life! I just found out that I am pregnant!!! Burke and I went to the store to get a pregnancy test so I could check in the morning but I couldn't wait and I took one tonight. I took the EPT test and it came back with an X. I didn't know what that was so I got the box and it meant pregnant. I couldn't believe it. I was so excited. Just to make sure we went to Walgreen's to buy a different kind of test. We drove so fast because the we only had 10 minutes until the store closed. I drank 2 huge water bottle and got 2 first response pregnancy tests. I came home and took one but I could only pee a little bit so the test didn't answer fast. I was so anxious so Burke made me go play the piano until I needed to go to the bathroom again for the second test. As I was playing I thought the first test I had just taken would have been ready so I went to check it and I now have 2 positive pregnancy tests! I called mom and told her. She was so excited and I just screamed and laughed. I told dad and he was excited too. Then I called anyone I could think of and screamed and danced around my house for the next 2 hours. Burke is so excited. We looked up the baby calendar and my due date is August 25, 2010. I can't wait for that day. Right now my little baby is basically cells and a partial spinal cord and I love my baby so much already! I can't wait to be a mom this it the best thing EVER!!!! If it is a boy I want the name to be Austin Burke Bowen. If it is a girl I want the name to be Megan Lynn Bowen. My guess is the baby will be a girl because when we were reading on the Internet the information kept saying she. But I will be extremely happy either way! Burke thinks the baby is going to be a boy, of course. I hope it comes early. I am not looking forward to being pregnant in the hot Arizona summer! I AM SO EXCITED!!!!
